Huawei Watch Fit SE: A special edition with a compact design
Huawei has officially unveiled the Watch Fit SE, a special edition of its popular wearable. The device, which received approval from SIRIM a month ago, promises to carry forward the legacy of its predecessor in a more budget friendly package.
“SE” version of the watch
The last model released by Huawei with “SE” in its name was an iteration of the Huawei Watch GT 3. That one went big on display with a 1.43-inch AMOLED screen and offered a focus on health and fitness with lots of workout modes. The device had a commendable battery life of up to 14 days and was compatible with both iOS and Android devices.

For those not in the know, the letters “SE” denote a “Special Edition” of a device. In some cases, the letters “SE” are associated with a less expensive version of a product. That’s certainly the case for this edition in the Fit series.
Continuation of the Fit range
The last iteration of Fit comes some three years after the original Huawei Watch Fit, launched back in 2020. There was also Huawei Watch Fit 2, unveiled about a year ago. Another device in the line-up was Watch Fit Elegant.
And let’s not forget the Huawei Watch Fit Mini. That one launched in late 2021 with a smaller display. It misses out on some of the functionality of its big brother but it costs less. Fit Mini is more suited for women and those with slender wrists.
Devices in the Watch Fit range have an elongated, squarish form-factor and slightly curved AMOLED panel. This gives them a unique look that set it apart from other devices in Huawei’s lineup.
Version 2 packs a massive 1.74 inch display, a boost from the 1.64 inches of the original. As far as other features, you get the usual bunch of fitness trackers including blood oxygen and stress, along with support for 97 different sports. Seven of these sports pack an an animated coach feature.
You also get a built-in speaker and mic as part of the package, enabling you to take smartphone calls from your wrist. What’s more, the watch supports offline music playback.
But one of the most impressive features of Huawei Watch Fit 2 is its battery life. It offers a decent 10-day run on a single charge, and a quick five-minute top-up could sustain the smartwatch for 24 hours.

The new SE version has a slightly smaller screen and a smaller battery life than the Huawei Watch Fit 2. It also lacks an NFC chip for contactless payments and does not include a speaker and microphone. Despite these differences, the Watch Fit SE still offers a range of features that make it a worthy contender in the wearable market.
The device is already listed on the Huawei website so wider retail availability should come soon. For now it is available in a handful of markets for a selling price of around $100. That’s $30 below Huawei Watch Fit 2.
