Honor teases Band 9 official reveal on March 18th
Honor has released a teaser for a launch event on March 18th. On that date we will get the Band 9, a mystery watch and latest smartphone releases.
As far as Band 9. the promotional poster reveals a device that looks very much like its predecessor. So once again we will get a rectangular device, with dimensions that appear to be similar to the current iteration.
A few months ago a Bluetooth SIG filing arrived for the device. What’s interesting is the naming convention.
The company has decided to bypass the Honor Band 8 which raises questions and theories. This appears to be a calculated move, perhaps intended to align with Huawei’s product naming conventions, given their recent launch of the Huawei Band 8.

This choice could highlight the enduring significance of the historical bond between Honor and Huawei. Despite their corporate separation in 2020, their products continue to reveal a common design philosophy and technological lineage. Moreover, the undeniable resemblance between the Huawei Band 8 and the Honor Band 7, in both appearance and functionality, speaks volumes about this connection.
Aligning the naming convention would help to dispel confusion. In fact, the Huawei Band 9 is also readying for launch.
Reflecting on the Honor Band’s legacy
To remind, the Honor Band 7 debuted in China in 2022, reaching European markets the subsequent summer. It’s fair to say, this was an evolutionary step for Honor’s wearables.
Rather than a radical overhaul, Band 7 refined existing strengths like the 1.47-inch AMOLED display and impressive battery life. The most notable change was the high-gloss metal case replacing TPU, showcasing Honor’s focus on a more premium design approach.
Official launch on March 18th
The full details of the Honor Band 9—features, design, and overall capabilities—remain a mystery. Based on released images, we anticipate another round of iterative improvements rather than a drastic departure from the established formula.
There’s also excitement surrounding the mystery watch launching alongside the Band 9. Could it be a new addition to the GS series or perhaps an update to the Honor Watch ES2? The answers are only days away!
It seems likely that the March 18th event will focus on the China reveal, with a global launch following a few months later. And let’s not forget to mention the other devices joining the lineup: the Honor Magic6 RSR (Porsche Design), Honor Magic6 Ultimate Edition, and Honor MagicBook Pro 16.
