Xiaomi Watch H1 E offers budget-friendly blood pressure tracking
Xiaomi has broadened its smartwatch portfolio with the introduction of the Watch H1 E in its local market of China. This new model serves as a more affordable alternative to the original Watch H1, which was launched late last year.
While the Watch H1 E shares most features with its predecessor, there is an important difference between the two models. The primary distinction lies in the absence of electrocardiogram (ECG) functionality in the H1 E. Additionally, while the original H1 boasts Food and Drug Administration (FDA) certification as a Class III medical device, the H1 E has only obtained certification from a Chinese agency in Beijing.
Both the H1 and H1 E models incorporate blood pressure monitoring capabilities, utilizing an oscillometric method with a built-in micro air pump. The H1 E offers automatic nighttime readings based on specific conditions, while daytime measurements are performed manually with reminders. Xiaomi claims an accuracy within 3 mmHg for these readings.
We have not had a chance to review the device, but the accuracy seems good. At least on paper. Hard to say without actual tests, and the reviews that are out there are few and far between.
Beyond that, the Watch H1 E comes equipped with a range of other features. These include biometric tracking for heart rate, skin temperature, and blood oxygen levels, as well as exercise logging with support for over 100 sports modes. Like its predecessor, the device sports a 1.43-inch AMOLED screen with a resolution of 466 x 466 pixels and boasts a battery life of up to 9 days under typical usage conditions.

Priced at CNY 1,899 (approximately $267), the Watch H1 E positions itself as a slightly more affordable option compared to the original H1. The only problem is, unless you opt for a third-party retailer such as eBay, you are not able to purchase either of these two devices in the US or Europe.
As of now, Xiaomi has not announced plans for international availability. Granted, considering Watch H1 has FDA approval, that model may come to the US. For now, consumers in those regions can opt for blood-tracking alternatives like the Huawei Watch D2.
