Amazfit Active 2 gets a smarter readiness score in latest update
Zepp Health has just pushed out firmware version 6.1.12.3 for the Active 2. The update is 13.49MB and delivers a handful of updates. One of these addresses a gripe I had with the device.
This is to do with the Readiness Score. In my hands-on review of the Active 2, I noted the same issue I’ve seen with the Balance, the T-Rex 3, and the Helio Ring. The readiness metrics tend to be a bit too optimistic—telling you you’re fully recharged when you very clearly aren’t. That’s partly because the system didn’t weight poor sleep or low HRV heavily enough.
With this update, the score should now better reflect your real state, especially after rough nights or when your body is clearly out of sync. Time will tell how well this has been tuned, but on paper, it sounds like a step in the right direction.
Another improvement that stands out is to the always-on display. Zepp Health says it should now be easier to see in sunlight. This may not sound like much, but on a bright day, that extra bit of brightness can be the difference between squinting at your wrist and just glancing.
Workout notifications have also been smoothed out. Instead of pop-ups interrupting your screen mid-run or ride, incoming messages will now show up more discreetly.

Lastly, a new meditation app has been added. It’s a basic addition, but it’s nice to have it sitting right there in the app list when you need a moment to unwind.
Overall, this is a small update, but it touches several parts of the Active 2 experience that matter. The software is rolling out gradually, with users in Europe and US seeing it.
