Zepp Health introduces BioCharge in new HYROX Edition Helio Strap
The Amazfit Helio Strap HYROX Edition is now official. After an earlier leak hinted at its existence, Zepp Health has acknowledged the device – which introduces a new feature called BioCharge.
Don’t confuse the device with a smartwatch. It’s also not just a passive heart rate strap. The Helio Strap is something in between. A lightweight, wearable built specifically to track physiological data during training and recovery. It looks a bit like a Whoop band at first glance, with a clean elastic exterior and no obvious display. But from what we’ve seen in the earlier leak, there’s a hidden screen under the fabric that stays invisible when not in use. The official images don’t show it, but it’s there.
The device can be used on its own or paired with other Amazfit devices like the T-Rex Ultra or the Helio Ring. Data syncs to the Zepp App, where it’s all brought together for training analysis, recovery tracking, and long-term planning. No subscription is required for any of the app’s core features, which is a nice contrast to the usual trend.
BioCharge is another headline here
One of the more notable additions is something Zepp Health calls BioCharge. This is a new energy monitoring feature that aims to assess recovery and physical depletion in real time. It seems to be different from the Readiness Score already present in the Zepp ecosystem, which offers a once-a-day assessment based on factors like sleep and activity.

BioCharge appears to take a more dynamic approach. According to Zepp Health, the goal is to help users determine optimal times to train or rest, potentially making it easier to manage load and avoid overtraining. It’s not yet clear how this will interact with or replace the existing Readiness Score, but it does suggest a shift toward more responsive, continuous recovery feedback.
The special HYROX Edition
The HYROX Edition is a limited-run variant designed for the Elite 15 athletes competing in the HYROX World Championship. These are people pushing themselves through intense endurance running and strength challenges.
There are dedicated modes for the HYROX race format and the Physical Fitness Test. It can automatically track strength training, including reps, sets, and rest periods. Volume and pacing control is also baked in, which should be helpful during structured blocks or periodised training phases.
Battery life is quoted at up to 10 days, which is pretty good. It’s breathable, lightweight, and designed to be worn during both workouts and sleep. In that sense, it mirrors Whoop’s always-on design approach.
The strap integrates with platforms like Strava, TrainingPeaks, and adidas Running, so there’s room to use it as part of a broader training setup. All the data still funnels through the Zepp App, which remains the hub for managing everything from stress to nutrition.
