First look at the Amazfit Helio Strap BioCharge tab & score system
We now have the first proper details about BioCharge. This gives a lot more info on how the feature will appear inside the Zepp Health app.
What BioCharge is shaping up to be
I’ve been wondering how Zepp Health planned to separate BioCharge from their existing Readiness Score. We now have at least part of the answer. Based on the screenshot below, BioCharge looks like it tracks your body’s energy level across the day, showing how it dips during activity and recharges during sleep.

So it is basically two components drive the score: Sleep Recharge and Daily Events. The visual layout is clean and looks similar to how Garmin presents Body Battery. It’s hard not to make that comparison. The concept is pretty much the same. You recover during downtime and burn through energy as you go about your day.
That kind of metric can be genuinely useful. Unlike a once-a-day readiness snapshot, a rolling energy score has more nuance. You might wake up feeling fine but crash mid-afternoon. BioCharge seems built to capture that.
Could this replace the Readiness Score?
What makes this even more interesting is the way the Zepp app’s tabs have changed in this screenshot. Normally, there’s Overview, Readiness, Sleep and Exertion. In the screenshot, Readiness is gone and BioCharge takes its place. That might be a signal that Zepp Health is phasing out the Readiness Score, or at least pushing it aside.
To be fair, the Readiness Score hasn’t always hit the mark. Some users say it can feel a bit random, especially if it gives you a low score after a solid night of sleep. If BioCharge does a better job of reflecting how your body actually feels, I wouldn’t be surprised to see it become the default.

Still, this isn’t confirmed. BioCharge might run alongside Readiness, with each serving a slightly different purpose. But the app layout does raise questions.
Timing and what comes next
There’s still no official launch date for the Amazfit Helio Strap. But Zepp Health has now posted a blog article promoting the HYROX edition and its link to the World Championship event in Chicago, which kicks off on June 11th. If the company is starting to publish promo material, it’s a safe bet that the device is just around the corner. Quite possibly before the Chicago event.
I’ll be watching closely to see if BioCharge shows up in other devices, or if it stays exclusive to the Helio Strap. It wouldn’t be a surprise to see it roll out across the board, assuming it performs well.
