Huawei Watch Fit 4 Pro firmware 5.1.0.121 brings Health Insights and voice notes

Huawei has started rolling out firmware version 5.1.0.121 for the Watch Fit 4 Pro. The 27.6MB update adds a Health Insights app, voice memo support and a high-brightness screen mode designed for outdoor workouts.

This follows hot on the heels of firmware version 5.1.0.118. That one added support for heart rate variability.

Health Insights app makes its debut

The standout here is a new app called Health Insights. It’s designed to bring together multiple streams of health data and turn them into something easier to understand. You’re not just getting isolated readings anymore. The app tries to build a narrative around your heart health, sleep and related trends. Huawei says it draws from multiple dimensions of data, but the key thing is that it tries to present it all in a clearer, more unified view.

This should help cut through some of the clutter you typically get in health dashboards. At least in theory.

Voice memos come to the wrist

The second addition is more about convenience. The Watch Fit 4 Pro can now record voice notes directly. If you’re the kind of person who jots down reminders mid-run or thinks out loud during the day, this might be a welcome touch. It’s simple enough to trigger, and for short notes it saves you the trouble of pulling out your phone.

It’s not going to replace a full recorder, but that’s not the point. It’s meant for those quick thoughts or reminders when you’re out walking or wrapping up a workout.

Outdoor visibility gets a bump

The update also brings a high-brightness screen mode for outdoor use. If you’ve ever squinted at your watch during a run on a sunny day, you’ll understand the value immediately. The option kicks in automatically during outdoor activities, which is good because nobody wants to fumble with brightness sliders mid-interval.

Update process and wrap-up

Firmware 5.1.0.121 weighs in at just under 28 megabytes, so it shouldn’t take long to install. Huawei recommends updating the Huawei Health app first via AppGallery before applying the watch update. And yes, you’ll want to keep Bluetooth connected throughout the process. If it fails the first time, just run it again.
