Circular Ring 2 with ECG, wireless charging: Now shipping

Circular has begun shipping its second-generation smart rings to early backers from its Kickstarter campaign. The goal is to have all units out the door before the end of July.

The Gen 2 model made its first appearance at CES 2025. It builds on the 2023 Circular Ring Slim by introducing ECG functionality and a redesigned look. Together, these upgrades push the device further into the health-tracking space.

The Kickstarter campaign attracted over 13,000 backers and raised around $4 million. Circular says everything is running on schedule. Shipping started in mid-July, with remaining orders expected to be fulfilled by the end of the month.

Here is an unboxing video that was shared on Youtube.

Expanding on its predecessor’s foundations

The previous model, the Circular Ring Slim, introduced some unique features like haptic navigation and lightweight construction but didn’t win universal acclaim. The new Circular Ring 2 addresses prior criticisms with enhanced sensors, a new app interface, and notable additions like FDA-cleared AFib detection.

On-demand ECG monitoring now takes center stage in this model. This feature provides heart health insights, aiming to go beyond basic metrics. By incorporating FDA-cleared algorithms for AFib detection, the device promises to deliver actionable data for users who prioritize cardiovascular health. It is something we have not seen in a ring, to date.

Some other novel features include blood pressure and glucose trend tracking. These are slated for release by the end of 2025, so at a later stage. If the company successfully pulls this off, it will be the first in the smart ring space with these two features.

Design meets durability

As far as build, Circular Ring 2 has undergone a complete aesthetic and material redesign. Available in four finishes, Gold, Silver, Black, and Rose Gold, the ring features a titanium build.

The new digital ring-sizing feature is another notable innovation. This ensures buyers can find their fit before placing an order. It also eliminates the need to wait for a sizing kit to be sent over, thus saving time. Users can use their smartphone to find their perfect ring size.

Other upgrades

Beyond that, the Circular Ring 2 includes improved sensors for more accurate tracking of biometrics, from sleep stages to heart rate. It also boasts a longer battery life, providing up to eight days of use per charge, and introduces wireless charging.

Kira+, the AI wellness assistant, has also received a significant update. The accompanying app now offers a more intuitive interface, aligning with the ring’s upscale design ethos.

Plus the ring now has a dedicated Women’s Health Suite. It offers cycle tracking, temperature monitoring, and insights into fertility, menopause, and overall wellness.

Market availability and pricing

Circular hopes the upgrades and expanded feature set will resonate with users. It’s still too early to tell how the ring will be received, but the company appears focused on pushing its lineup forward. ECG and AFib detection give it a stronger health angle this time around.

If blood pressure and glucose tracking do get added, they could give the device a real edge. Much will depend on how well these features are implemented.

  • Surprise Surprise…. subscription free…. but not subscription free lool Ultrahuman way 🙂 waiting for an article about it 🙂 Whoop style to let users know about things after they bought already and change the rules, funny if people would be able to refund on this since it was a stretch goal yes but was suppose to be included and free as advertised by them

“To preserve a subscription-free experience, these features will be made optional to activate on the Circular app, via Circular Coins or optional micro-transactions.

🧠 No other smart ring offers these features — not to mention the 13+ core features you’re already getting as part of your purchase.”

  • I hope the Circular Team reads this here.

Your latest “update” is nothing more than a patronizing wall of excuses and gaslighting. Don’t insult our intelligence by pretending this is just a “miscommunication.” This is deliberate deception.

You took millions of dollars from backers on the promise of:

“With a one-time purchase, you get lifetime access to everything… and all future features. No recurring fees. No locked insights.”

We backed you because of that promise. Now you’ve erased it from your campaign page and replaced it with microtransactions for features we already paid for. Blood pressure and glucose monitoring were unlocked stretch goals — we funded them. You are charging us twice for what you already promised.

And don’t think we didn’t notice the retroactive campaign edits. Changing the wording after the campaign ended, once refunds were no longer possible, is calculated fraud. To then sit there and act like backers are just “confused” is beyond insulting. We’re not confused — you lied.

Your company’s track record speaks volumes:

Circular Ring 1 was already a disaster, riddled with broken promises and delivery nightmares.

Instead of redeeming your reputation, you’ve repeated the same bait-and-switch tactics on Circular Ring 2.

You admit you could grandfather early backers in for free (the bare minimum to honor your word), yet you refuse to do so. That decision alone proves this is about squeezing backers for every last cent.

And your “Circular Coins” system? It’s a joke. We didn’t back a grind-to-unlock scam. We backed a product with all features included.

    Here’s what’s going to happen:

You will give early backers full access to all features — free, exactly as advertised.

Or you will issue full refunds to those of us who refuse to accept this sham.

If you don’t, I will report you to Kickstarter Trust & Safety, the FTC, and my Attorney General. I will file a chargeback for misrepresentation. And I will plaster your name across Reddit, Trustpilot, and tech forums, ensuring everyone knows exactly how Circular treats its customers. Your reputation won’t just take a hit — it’ll be shredded.

Stop hiding behind your canned responses. Stop gaslighting your backers. You lied, and you’re trying to wriggle out of it. This is your last chance to make things right.

Wish someone would write an article about what is really going on with the Kickstarter, fraud and deceit. They are getting their page rewritten so they can change the rules and Kickstarter is allowing it (even if stated against their own rules in their FAQ. Because they get a percentage of the pay out). Go read the actual Kickstarter comments for the real information on it.

    • Yeah i guess this blog is a bit biased on them, just promoting their new release on the immunity index (another gimmick numbers without any study or worth behind to support it) but zero mention on these suddenly change on subscription free (same as Whoop and Ultrahuman did and i think at the time some articles appeared here….)

We are in no way biased – have not contributed to the Kickstarter campaign, have not reviewed the device. If we were biased we would not be allowing negative comments. This article is based on their press release. We will look to follow up this weekend – covering the subscription fee change – and the negative comments surrounding this. Ultrahuman and Whoop – we tested both of those out so can offer a opinion based on real-world use. Actually, the first we heard of the negativity is a few days ago when we published an article covering shipping of Circular ring – and noticed negative comments.

Well if you see the update on the shipping you covered you would read the introduced fee for a “subscription free” product…. didn’t that ring a bell at all? 🙂 i mean you don’t even need to notice the negative comments, i’m not a backer and went there to see how things were going after seeing the article about shipping and instantly see that mention of a introductory fee… and i don’t even look deep into stuff to write articles right? 🙂

Chill out man. I get you are angry – but don’t take it out on us! You can start your own blog if you think you can do better.
