Ultrahuman aims at migraine support with new PowerPlug feature
Ultrahuman is rolling out a new feature called Migraine PowerPlug that works with its smart ring. It uses your body signals like sleep, stress and recovery data and ties them to science backed tools to help you manage migraines in real life, not just track them.
A migraine tool built around how your body feels
What you essentially get is something that connects physiological signals like heart rate variability, sleep quality and movement to the kind of patterns people with migraine already sense in their day-to-day lives. The feature is based on CT-132, Click Therapeutics’ prescription digital treatment for migraine prevention, but here it’s being adapted into a lifestyle-focused version that works inside the Ultrahuman platform.
Unlike general health apps that track and report, Migraine PowerPlug builds in actionable guidance. It learns from the user’s data to deliver tailored tips. For example, when to dial back activity, how to stabilise sleep patterns or when to increase hydration. These nudges aim to increase day-to-day resilience, not just flag potential triggers.
It’s a more continuous approach. Migraine is episodic, but the risk environment is ongoing. So rather than waiting for flare-ups and reacting after the fact, PowerPlug aims to guide people before a migraine hits.
Designed with women in mind
Migraine is often overlooked as a serious health issue, despite affecting over a billion people. Its impact is especially high among women, who experience it far more frequently than men. It’s also one of the top causes of disability for women in their reproductive years.
Ultrahuman has recently added more women’s health tools to its ecosystem, including through the acquisition of viO and its OvuSense technology. That addition has already allowed Ultrahuman to support a wider range of hormonal profiles. With Migraine PowerPlug, that same infrastructure can be used to help track migraine susceptibility linked to cycle shifts or hormonal changes.
Merging therapy with wearables
Click’s FDA-cleared technology brings some clinical weight to what would otherwise be a wellness feature. CT-132 is already being used in the US as a prescription digital therapeutic. Its approach combines software-based cognitive behavioural techniques with migraine education and behavioural interventions. In this new PowerPlug, those same principles will be delivered through the Ultrahuman app, but layered on top of the user’s own biometric data.
It’s not trying to replace medication or serve as a treatment on its own. But for people already tracking their health and managing symptoms, this offers a bridge between personal insights and medically guided support. The fact that it’s software-based also makes it easier to scale across regions, as the planned rollout covers the US, EU, India, Australia and more.
A broader shift in how migraine is managed
There’s been a growing interest in using wearables to manage chronic conditions. But most solutions still stop at awareness. They log sleep, measure stress, maybe offer some graphs. What makes PowerPlug interesting is the integration of both sides: personalised sensor data and a treatment model built on validated protocols.
Recently, RingConn introduced a similar feature for its smart ring. But that one tracks headaches and in my experience works rather well. Both RingConn and Ultrahuman offer a subscription-free alternative to Oura, and are amongst the best smart ring options out there.
The Ultrahuman Migraine PowerPlug is not available yet. It is expected to launch in the near future, probably the next month or two.
