Amazfit Arm Sleeve offers alternative to wrist based tracking
Zepp Health has launched the Arm Sleeve in the US, priced at $19.99, and it is built for use with the Helio Core module. The idea is simple, move the sensor off your wrist and onto your upper arm to get more stable readings during workouts.
Moving away from the wrist
If you have used wrist based tracking for a while, you already know where things can go wrong. Grip changes, wrist bending, even how tight you wear the device, all of that can throw readings off.
That is what Zepp Health is trying to get around here. By placing the sensor higher up the arm, closer to the heart, the environment is just more stable. Less movement, fewer odd angles, and in theory, cleaner data.
The company is careful with how it frames this. It talks about more consistent readings rather than making big claims about accuracy. Upper arm placement has been used for years in fitness gear, so the logic checks out.
Part of a bigger Helio setup
Of course, the Arm Sleeve only makes sense if you already have the Helio Core. That is the small module that also sits inside the Helio Strap. You can wear it on your wrist with the Strap, on your arm with the Armband, or now inside a full sleeve.
Which means instead of one fixed design, you get a system where the same sensor can move depending on what you are doing. The Armband or wrist are still the simpler options. The Arm Sleeve feels more geared towards workouts where you want everything locked in place.
Fit and materials
The sleeve itself is made from a 75 percent polyamide and 25 percent spandex mix. That usually means stretch, decent breathability, and something that can handle sweat without becoming uncomfortable.
There are three sizes. Small runs from 22 to 28 cm, medium from 27 to 35 cm, and large goes up to 45 cm. So it should cover most arm sizes without too much trouble.
The wider sleeve design also matters. Compared to a narrow band, it is likely to stay put better when you are moving around, which again ties back to the whole consistency angle.
So this is really aimed at people who are already using the Helio setup and want to try a different way of wearing it. At $19.99, it is not a big investment, more like an extra piece of kit to experiment with.
