Huawei rolls out updates for Watch Fit 3 and Watch GT 3 Pro

Huawei is continuing to refine its smartwatch offerings with new software updates for two of its popular models. The Watch Fit 3 and Watch GT 3 Pro are both receiving firmware updates. No big changes, just some things that promise to enhance the user experience.

Starting off with the Huawei Watch Fit 3. That timepiece debuted only a few months ago. An iterative upgrade over its predecessor, it comes with a larger, higher-resolution display, premium aluminum build, and the addition of a rotating crown.

The device is now receiving an update to HarmonyOS 4.2. The new software version 4.2.0.153 (C00M00) brings three key optimizations: enhanced calling experience in certain situations, improvements to some user interfaces, and increased overall stability. While Huawei hasn’t provided more specific details about these changes, users can expect a smoother and more refined experience with their Watch Fit 3.

This update, sized at 113MB, is based on HarmonyOS 4.0 and brings two notable improvements: enhanced sleep monitoring experience and improved heart rate measurement experience. How to install

While the company could be more transparent about the exact changes in each update, the regular release of new software versions demonstrates a commitment to supporting and enhancing its devices over time. Users can install the new software for both watches via the Huawei Health app. Huawei recommends ensuring that you have the latest version of the app before proceeding with the update. It’s worth noting that the update process may take a while to complete.

These updates follow the refresh for Huawei Watch 4 from about a month ago. That update bumped up the software of the device to HarmonyOS 4.2.

For Huawei fans, an interesting bit of info is that the company is, reportedly, preparing Huawei Watch 5. There are expectations it may launch alongside the Mate 70 smartphone later this year. The device is poised to build upon the success of the current Huawei Watch 4 series, offering a redesigned look and a new operating system.
