CMF by Nothing Watch 2 Pro: New updates refine user experience

CMF by Nothing has released updates for its recently unveiled Watch 2 Pro. This includes firmware version 1.0.0.51 and corresponding app updates for Android (v3.2.2) and iOS (v3.1.8). This software refresh brings a few useful features.

Key improvements in the firmware update include enhanced screen lighting for incoming calls, optimized weekly temperature display, and improved daylight saving time display in the world clock feature for the Watch Pro 2. The update also refines calorie and exercise duration display for select widgets, updates various text entries, and aims to boost the overall user experience.

One notable addition is the “return to watch” option, addressing a previous user concern. The update also corrects an issue with AM/PM display on certain AOD watchfaces when 24-hour time was enabled.

The companion app also introduces several new features. Users can now check sports data offline and view Watch 2 and Watch 2 Pro data on the app homepage. The app also allows setting daily step goals and includes daylight savings information in the world clock feature. Android users benefit from data syncing with Google Health Connect.

While the update addresses several user requests, some features, such as “notification to wake,” remain unavailable despite being mentioned in the FAQ. Users have reported mixed experiences with customer support, highlighting the need for more responsive and tailored assistance.

The CMF Watch app now includes a “User Feedback” option, allowing users to directly submit their thoughts and concerns. However, the effectiveness of this feature in addressing specific user issues remains to be seen.

It’s worth noting that firmware updates are typically rolled out in stages. So if you have not received it just yet, you will need to be patient.

Watch 2 Pro made its debut just over a month ago. This circular device marks a significant departure from its predecessor’s Apple Watch-inspired design, offering a blend of style and functionality that punches above its budget-friendly price point.
