OnePlus Watch 3 launches February 18 with a battery boost & design upgrade

OnePlus is set to launch Watch 3 on February 18, 2025, in the US and Europe. The latest timepiece from the company promises better battery life, a refined design, and an improved user experience.

Bigger and longer lasting battery

As revealed by the company – the biggest upgrade comes in battery performance. The Watch 3 packs a 631mAh battery, a significant jump from the 500mAh battery in its predecessor.

Under normal conditions, with default health tracking on and the always-on display off, it can last around five days on a single charge. Those who enable power-saving features can push that to 16 days, while heavy users with everything running, including AOD, will get about three days.

The efficiency comes from a dual-chip system, with a Snapdragon W5 handling performance and a new BES2800 chip focused on power savings. OnePlus has also adopted silicon carbon battery technology, which allows for increased capacity without adding bulk.

Other updates

The design has been given some attention as well. Thanks to previous leaks, we know that one of the changes is the addition of a rotating digital crown. The case is built with a stainless steel frame, topped with a titanium alloy bezel and a sapphire crystal display for added durability.

The software experience has also been improved, though OnePlus hasn’t revealed full details yet. If the previous model is anything to go by, users can expect health tracking features, notifications, and the usual smartwatch functions, likely with a smoother interface. There’s also talk of an ECG feature.

The Watch 3 will be available in black and green, sticking to a minimal but premium aesthetic. Pricing remains a mystery, but OnePlus is offering pre-launch sign-ups with the promise of discounts and potential giveaways. Given the upgrades, it’s likely to sit at a higher price than its predecessor, but that will become clear closer to launch.

The OnePlus Watch 2, launched at MWC 2024, was a huge improvement over the first model. It proved OnePlus could actually compete in the Wear OS game. The device has a slick stainless steel build, a sapphire crystal cover, and a sharp 1.43-inch AMOLED display with swappable straps. A dual-chip setup—Snapdragon W5 for the heavy lifting and an MCU chip for power saving—keeps it running for up to 100 hours, making it one of the longest-lasting Wear OS watches out there. Now, the OnePlus Watch 3 is stepping things up.
