How Huawei Watch Fit 4 and Pro stack up vs last year’s Fit 3

Huawei has officially launched the Watch Fit 4 and Fit 4 Pro, exactly one year after the release of the Fit 3. The new models stick with a 1.82-inch AMOLED display but improve brightness, add dual-band GNSS, and introduce features like ECG, offline route navigation, and expanded water sport tracking on the Pro variant.

Let’s break down how these three models compare.

Design gets refined, but the look stays familiar

All three watches share the same basic shape with a rectangular AMOLED display that measures 1.82 inches across. But Fit 4 and Pro come with 2000 and 3000 nits respectively, up on the 1500 nits of last year’s variant. Also, the Pro version is the only model with sapphire glass protection.

Huawei has also made a few dimensional tweaks. The new models are slightly larger and flatter, with the Fit 4 Pro shaving down its thickness to 9.3mm. The Fit 3, by comparison, is a bit more compact but also thicker, likely to accommodate internal components differently.

Materials also get an upgrade if you go for the Pro model. While the standard Fit 4 sticks to aluminium alloy like its predecessor, the Pro adds a titanium bezel to the mix. This gives it a bit more heft and polish on the wrist. Both new models include a rotating crown and a single side button, just like the Fit 3. The layout feels familiar, but there’s more going on under the hood.

Sensors and health features are no longer basic

This is where the Fit 4 Pro really pulls away. It comes loaded with extra health sensors, including ECG and temperature. It even supports Huawei’s new TruSense system, which is supposed to deliver more accurate readings and a broader set of wellness metrics. Heart rate variability and Health Glance, along with a barometer are also included on both Fit 4 models, but entirely missing from the Fit 3.

You also get route navigation with offline maps, barometric readings and water sport tracking on the Fit 4 and Pro. These additions mean the watches are much more capable when it comes to outdoor and adventure use. None of these features exist on the Fit 3, which feels quite limited in comparison.

Another standout difference is golf. The Fit 4 Pro includes a bundle of golf-specific tools, including course maps, green contour data and shot tracking. If golf matters to you, the Pro is the only one of the three that delivers anything in this area. Trail runners also get some love here, with dedicated profiles only available on the Pro.

GPS, build, and battery life all get minor updates

Both Fit 4 models come with dual-band GNSS for more accurate positioning. The Fit 3, on the other hand, sticks to a single-band setup. This alone could be reason enough to upgrade if you care about GPS accuracy during runs or hikes.

Water resistance is the same on the Fit 3 and standard Fit 4, rated at 5 ATM. The Pro improves on this with additional IP6X certification and the ability to track diving up to 40 meters. That adds a new category of use for people who regularly swim or dive.

Battery life across all three watches is rated similarly at up to 10 days, with a dip to around 7 under heavier use. All of these charge in around an hour.

Price gaps reflect very different levels of capability

The Fit 3 can currently be bought for around $120. The Fit 4 bumps that to $180, and the Pro climbs to $300 and above depending on configuration. The jump in price is justified if you care about advanced metrics, golf or trail-specific features. But for basic health and fitness tracking, the Fit 3 still holds up well. No US availability of the new models just yet, but they can be purchased in Europe and some other regions.

The takeaway here is that Huawei has clearly segmented its lineup. The Fit 3 is the lightweight option, the Fit 4 is a modest upgrade with a better screen and more sensors, and the Pro is trying to do a bit of everything.
