What to expect from Garmin’s new Evening Report

I really like the idea behind Garmin’s new Evening Report. It’s a simple addition, but one that actually makes sense. Morning Report already gives you a quick overview when you wake up, so having something similar in the evening feels like a natural next step.

The Evening Report shows up before bed with info like how much sleep you need, what workout is planned for tomorrow, and the next day’s weather and calendar. It’s something that could help you wind down with a bit more structure, especially if you’re training regularly or juggling a busy schedule.

Right now it’s only available on the Forerunner 970 and 570, but I could see Garmin expanding it to more models soon. It would make sense.

Evening Report gives structure to your night

The Evening Report appears about 90 minutes before your set bedtime. You can change that if it feels too early or too late. It gives you a snapshot of your current sleep need, tomorrow’s workout, the upcoming weather, and anything in your calendar. The idea is to get info that actually helps you wind down and prep for tomorrow.

It doesn’t do anything dramatic, but that’s kind of the point. The info is already there in Garmin Connect or other parts of the watch. This just puts it all together in a more useful moment.

Morning Report continues where it left off

Morning Report isn’t new, but it’s worth revisiting now that it works alongside its evening counterpart. It first showed up on the Garmin Lily in 2021, offering a basic rundown of weather, step goals, and calendar info.

The revamped version, adds more meaningful insight. You get a summary of your Sleep Score, HRV Status, Body Battery, Training Readiness, and more. It appears automatically when you wake up and can be tailored to show only the data you care about.

There’s no need to dig into menus. It gives a short, customisable dashboard at the start of your day. You can edit the items shown, change the order, or disable it entirely if it doesn’t fit your routine.

Customising the reports

You can change the contents of both the Morning and Evening Reports, either directly on the watch or through Garmin Connect. Go to Appearance > Morning Report to turn it on or off, select which items appear, reorder them, and even edit the name Garmin uses to greet you in the morning.

The same applies to the Evening Report. If you want it to focus only on workouts and weather, you can remove sleep or events. Both reports are meant to be personal, not just a generic data dump.

Once set, these reports become quiet anchors for the start and end of your day.
