Whoop 4.0 Healthspan rollout is happening

Some Whoop 4.0 users are starting to see Healthspan show up in their app. It’s part of a staggered rollout, so not everyone has access yet. But it is happening.

Access is arriving in stages

I’ve been checking my Whoop app regularly to see if Healthspan has been enabled. So far, nothing on my device. But a growing number of 4.0 users have reported that the feature is live for them.

One user who asked the Whoop AI assistant about it got a clear answer. The feature is being rolled out in phases as a kind of soft launch or beta test. This approach is meant to help ensure that everything functions properly before the full release. According to Whoop, select members are getting early access, and others should expect to see it later in the summer.

Here’s the exact message that was shared:

“You’re getting early access because WHOOP is rolling out Healthspan to 4.0 Peak members in phases—kind of like a soft launch or ‘beta’ test. This helps WHOOP make sure everything works smoothly before releasing it to everyone at once. So, right now, only select members (often based on membership type, region, and usage patterns) have it unlocked. Other members on 4.0 Peak will get Healthspan soon, but you’re ahead of the curve!”

If you’re on a 4.0 strap, chances are you’ve already built up enough baseline data for Healthspan to kick in right away once it’s live. You need about 90 days of data to unlock the full metrics, but that tracking’s already happening in the background. Once the feature switches on, it will use that existing history to populate the new section.

What Healthspan actually offers

Healthspan gives you two metrics that aim to reflect long-term physiological trends. These are called WHOOP Age and Pace of Aging.

WHOOP Age is an estimate that compares your body’s signals to those of the broader population. The number is meant to show how your physiological status aligns with your actual age. It is not tied to any one day of data, but rather drawn from patterns over time.

Whoop speed of ageing

Pace of Aging is a rate. A score of 1.0 means your biological signals are changing in line with your chronological age. A higher number means a faster pace. A lower number means a slower one. The value is based on multiple data streams tracked over weeks and months.

It’s fair to say – the 5.0 hardware isn’t drastically different. It’s a little smaller and lighter, but not enough to notice during wear. ECG and blood pressure insights are limited to the MG variant, and there is added battery life, while nice, isn’t a huge deal unless you forget to top up your strap.

For many people using the regular strap, the main appeal was those deeper aging insights. WHOOP Age and Pace of Aging take a longer-term view of your habits. They aren’t tied to daily strain and recovery, but instead track how your lifestyle is impacting your biological age over time. It’s great to see that feature now starting to roll out more widely.
