Amazfit Balance gets firmware update ahead of September cutoff
A new firmware update is rolling out for the Amazfit Balance, one of Zepp Health’s older watches still hanging on to active support. With firmware updates expected to end in September, this might be the penultimate refresh before the device is sunset.
The update, version 3.26.3.4, weighs in at 12.31MB. While the watch remains on ZeppOS 4.0, this release adds some welcome functionality, along with bug fixes and performance tweaks.
New HYROX test and sensor compatibility
One of the bigger additions is support for HYROX PFT. This is the official Physical Fitness Test tied to HYROX competitions, which have been growing in popularity as a hybrid between endurance racing and functional strength challenges. The watch now includes built-in templates that let users run through the test format without external guidance.
A second feature is expanded support for external accessories. The Amazfit Balance can now work with cycling speed sensors, broadening its appeal for cyclists using traditional bike hardware setups.
Zepp has also added support for third-party modules on the training data pages. These plug-ins can be downloaded from the Zepp app store, and allow users to tweak what metrics and visuals show up during workouts. It’s a small addition but could prove useful for those who want to customise their screens beyond the default templates.
Battery efficiency during workouts gets a small lift too. Zepp has improved the “Resume Later” function so that the watch consumes less power when paused mid-session.
Finally, ski tracking has been refined. The Balance will now better detect lift rides and calculate slope gradients with more accuracy.
This update shows Zepp Health is still paying attention to the original Balance, even as the clock ticks toward the end of firmware support. After September, users looking for continued software upgrades will likely need to switch to the Amazfit Balance 2. That newer model builds on the same foundation but brings tougher materials, upgraded sensors, and a longer software roadmap.
