Garmin Bounce 2 gives kids a watch with music & geofencing
Garmin has launched the Bounce 2, a kids’ smartwatch with LTE, music playback and real-time tracking. Like its predecessor, the device is designed to help parents delay giving their child a phone while staying connected.
Built for everyday use
The Bounce 2 features a vivid 1.2-inch AMOLED touchscreen and is swim-ready. The news here is that this is Garmin’s first kids’ watch to include an AMOLED display. This should help to improve clarity for both apps and activity tracking.
The interface is designed to be responsive and easy to navigate, using both the touchscreen and side buttons. It’s also built with enough durability to handle everyday bumps, splashes and rough handling. Just what you want from a kids watch.

Garmin is positioning the Bounce 2 as a step between simple GPS trackers and giving a child a full smartphone. It supports two-way calling and voice messaging. Kids can also send texts using a full on-screen keyboard. Voice messages can be automatically transcribed if listening isn’t an option.
What’s more, parents can view their child’s location in real time and set up safe zones. A new geofencing feature sends alerts when those zones are entered or exited, and can be set to expire automatically.

Music and voice features keep it fun
Kids can download Amazon Music playlists directly to the watch for phone-free listening, provided there’s a subscription in place. Simple voice commands like “call mum” or “set a timer” are also supported, letting kids interact with the device without needing to swipe through menus. Watch faces and colour themes can be customised with animated styles to keep the experience light and playful.

Activity tracking is built in too. The watch supports sports modes including running, biking, jump rope and even pickleball. Activity summaries are sent to Garmin Connect so parents can keep track of their child’s movement history and basic health data.
The battery lasts up to two days depending on usage, and the LTE plan is managed entirely through Garmin. It costs $9.99 per month, removing the need to set up a separate mobile account.
The Bounce 2 is available in three colour options: light purple, turquoise, and slate gray. It retails for $299.99 on Garmin’s website.
