New Active Max looks set to join Amazfit lineup soon
Zepp Health’s next smartwatch has broken cover, and it looks like it’s going to be called the Active Max. A new leak shared by Roland Quandt reveals renders, specs, and even pricing, pointing to a device that slots just above the Active 2.
New name, bigger display
The watch is expected to launch under the Amazfit Active Max name, and it looks every bit the part. Renders show a rugged, round design with a perforated sport strap and a metal bezel. The casing has a more serious tone than the standard Active 2. It leans toward a fitness-first look, complete with HYROX-branded workout modes. In fact it reminds a lot of Balance 2.
The screen is a 1.5-inch OLED with a 480×480 resolution. This puts it noticeably ahead of the Active 2’s 1.32-inch AMOLED. Battery capacity jumps as well. The Active Max is listed with a 576 mAh cell, more than double the 270 mAh battery found in the earlier model. That alone suggests longer runtime, especially for GPS-heavy use, though real-world numbers will depend on optimization.
Onboard memory is also getting a bump, with 4GB reportedly available for storage. Other details include Bluetooth 5.3, built-in GPS, NFC, and 5 ATM water resistance. The price is pegged at 169.90 euros, which positions it squarely above the current Active 2 but below watches like the Falcon or Cheetah Pro.
A noticeable step up from Active 2
The Active 2 came out about nine months ago and brought with it a clean aesthetic and a solid set of features for the price. We actually gave it an excellent rating in our hands-on review.
Sensors were already strong on that device, with the BioTracker 6.0 PPG, temperature sensing, and full GPS coverage with circularly-polarized antennas. The new Max model doesn’t yet list sensor details, but the addition of a larger case could point to more onboard tech or at least improved performance for things like heart rate during intense training.
Charging on Active 2 is handled via a magnetic cradle, with typical usage hitting around 10 days and continuous GPS limited to around 21 hours. With a battery more than twice the size, the Max should push those figures significantly higher.
A familiar design but aimed higher
From the leaked images, the Active Max looks more purpose-built. The dual pushers, structured side vents, and wider case signal a design shift toward more performance-focused use. The branding and name suggest this is more of a “next-tier” Active than a full-blown pro device.
The watch has already passed through three certification bodies under model number A2557, which we’ve now linked to the Active Max. That includes Malaysia, South Korea, and Indonesia. Given that, it’s fair to assume the hardware is final and a launch is likely close. Whether it drops before the end of the year or slides into early 2026 and CES in Las Vegas remains to be seen.
Zepp Health has already refreshed several lines this year, including Bip, Active, and T-Rex. With the Max now surfacing, it looks like the company has decided to squeeze one more release into the tail end of the cycle or line things up to hit just after the new year.
