This is a gadget that aids post-workout recovery, reduces pain, increases blood flow, breaks up scar tissue, released muscle spasms, decreases lactic acid and much more. For avid tennis players it can be beneficial when dealing with tennis elbow.

Professional athletes have been aware of the benefits of percussion therapy for a while, but it is in recent years that this has been made available to everyone. Sure, you can go to a physio therapist or a professional massage to receive similar benefits, but in the long term devices such as Theragun are cheaper and more convenient.

“Theragun devices are terrific for tennis coaches and players to aid in their recovery after a long day on the court or to help with muscle strains. Once you use a Theragun product, you will swear by its effectiveness.” sadi USPTA CEO John Embree.

Theragun has not been around for very long. Nearly a decade in the making, it officially launched in 2016. The gizmo is considered to be one of the best such devices on the market. It is the percussive massage therapy brand of choice for hundreds of professional sports teams, athletes, physical therapists and the rest of us.

Sure there are cheap knockoff brands but they do not provide the same level of muscle relief or reliabilty. There are a number of models in the Theragun range ranking from the very basic Mini to the Pro model.

The latter comes with a rotating arm and ergonomic grip, that has 4 different arm positions and 6 attachments. There are five different percussion settings: 1750, 1900, 2100, 2200, and 2400 percussions per minute, with up to 60 pounds of force.

Something many people don’t consider when buying a massage gun in instructions. Theragun comes with an accompanying smartphone app that walks you through how you should be treating your muscles and tracks progress and data with Bluetooth connectivity. There are even custom tennis routines that teach players how to properly warm-up, with recommended 30 second treatments focusing on the shoulder, forearms, hips, legs as well as the bottom of the shoe. Other programs allow for a quick 10 second re-activation of these muscles – useful during a long and grulling tennis match.

Those in the US can check it out on teamhqs.com in a choice between white and black. It retails for $399.99 but you can get a 10% discount by clicking on this link. At checkout, just make sure to press the button to add the discount code. The savings are also applicable for the pricier Pro model, and entry-level Theragun Mini.
