CMF Watch Pro 3 is on the way with higher price tag

Just a year after the debut of the CMF Watch Pro 2, signs are pointing to an imminent follow-up. A leak has revealed the existence of the CMF Watch Pro 3, and a price hike suggests it could bring a few changes under the hood.

A successor appears

CMF, the design-focused sub-brand from Nothing, launched the Watch Pro 2 in July 2024. It marked a shift from square to circular design and packed a 1.32-inch AMOLED display, built-in GPS and Bluetooth calling into a device priced at €69. Now, twelve months later, the Pro 2 is being sold at a steep discount, suggesting that retailers are clearing inventory.

At the same time, a new model has appeared in Amazon’s backend systems. First reported by YTECHB (via Notebookcheck), the CMF Watch Pro 3 is listed in the same Dark Grey colour seen on the Pro 2. The new model is priced at €99, which is a significant increase and likely reflects either hardware upgrades or improved build quality. No technical specs, product images or launch date have been made official yet.

CMF’s strategy last year was to lead with a clean, functional device that focused on core health features without the overhead of Wear OS. It looks like that approach is continuing, but at a higher tier.

What the Watch Pro 3 needs to fix

For a budget smartwatch, the Watch Pro 2 delivered on most essentials. The AMOLED screen had a 466 by 466 resolution with a 60 Hz refresh rate and 620 nits brightness. Battery life reached up to 11 days in typical use or 25 hours with GPS. It also offered swappable bezels, IP68 water resistance, and gesture support.

But it wasn’t flawless. NFC was missing, data syncing was sometimes unreliable, and the user interface could stutter. Some users also wanted a thinner case and narrower bezels. These issues didn’t hold the device back too much at €69. At €99, expectations are different.

The wishlist for Watch Pro 3 is already forming. NFC payments top the list. A more stable OS, improved sensor accuracy and a leaner design would help it justify the price increase. Even small improvements to syncing and daily reliability could make a difference.

With Pro 2 now discounted and a successor showing up in retailer systems, CMF looks ready to move up a gear. If the Watch Pro 3 brings the refinements users are asking for, the higher price might not be a problem. We’ll be watching to see how it positions itself in a more crowded budget smartwatch space.
