Amazfit Helio Band users finally get an upper arm option for better data

Zepp Health’s Helio Arm Band is finally here, a couple of weeks later than anticipated. Initially expected to be part of a Premium bundle, this $14.99 optional upper arm extension now lands as a standalone accessory in the US store.

A more flexible way to wear the Helio Strap

The new band lets you slot in your existing Helio Strap Core unit and secure it around your upper arm. It is another way to wear the device, and at $14.99, a very low-risk investment one. Whoop straps are three times as expensive.

Mind you, there are no extra sensors or charging tricks here. You are just moving the optical module off your wrist and up to your biceps. That alone can have real tracking benefits.

The standard version of the Helio Strap comes with a classic black wristband. It conceals the optical unit inside a soft band loop, which is fine for casual wear. This new add-on does not hide the device. Instead, it sits flat and visible against the skin, allowing the sensor to stay firmly in place during movement.

That’s important for strength work, interval sprints or any type of training where wrist flexion and grip strain can interfere with readings. By removing wrist-based distortion, the upper arm position is more stable. And since it places the BioTracker sensor a little closer to the chest, you also get stronger signal consistency. Zepp Health says this leads to cleaner data and less drop-out in dynamic sessions.

Built for everyday workouts

The strap itself is made of soft, quick-dry black nylon. It is slightly longer than the wrist version and adjustable for arms ranging from 9.84 to 16.14 inches in circumference. It is still 22mm wide, so the Helio core clips in the same way as before.

Comfort looks like a strong point. The band is more functional than premium looking. As someone who wears Whoop, I can attest that it is much more comfortable to wear it on the upper arm. Especially if you have a smartwatch sitting on one of your wrists.

In terms of availability, the Helio Arm Band is only showing up on the US store for now. There’s no word yet on international listings or a bundled option that includes both bands out of the box. That said, Zepp Health tends to roll out accessories gradually, so wider availability should follow soon.

What is remaining are the further colour options for the Helio Strap that are expected. At the moment only a Black iteration is available. But incoming are Gray Black and Gray White.
