Helio Strap gets firmware 3.1.8.2 with better workout HR & sleep data
A new firmware version has landed for the Amazfit Helio Strap. Update 3.1.8.2 focuses on improving tracking accuracy during workouts and sleep, while ironing out a few persistent bugs that users have flagged since launch.
This release fine-tunes the strap’s core health features
The update comes in at just under 2.5MB and builds directly on version 3.1.2.3, which arrived in July. That one focused on automatic activity detection and BioCharge accuracy. Version 3.1.8.2 goes deeper into core functionality, addressing some of the issues that have affected the strap’s consistency in capturing data.

The biggest change is a tweak to the heart rate algorithm. Users should now see more reliable heart rate tracking during exercise, with fewer gaps in the data. Zepp Health says the update resolves the issue of missing heart rate readings that occurred during high-intensity sessions.
Sleep tracking has also received attention. Some users had reported unrealistically high sleep scores. This update recalibrates those scores using additional inputs such as REM stages and heart rate variability.
A more technical fix addresses an underlying chip issue that caused gaps in heart rate and sleep tracking for some users. This patch should eliminate the occasional missing records that appeared without warning. The update also resolves lingering Bluetooth connectivity bugs, which could affect syncing if the strap was paired with more than one device or left idle for extended periods.

A plethora of updates
Zepp Health seems to be sticking to a monthly cadence for firmware updates. Since launch, the Helio Strap has already received three meaningful updates, suggesting that Zepp is actively tuning the platform based on early feedback. With the product still in its first full quarter of availability, it’s likely that more feature refinements are on the way.
Some users have been hoping for additional sports profiles or improvements to HRV data presentation. Those haven’t landed yet. But the current pace of updates makes it plausible that we’ll see further enhancements soon.
Also, as of a few days ago users also have the option of purchasing the upper arm band. It retails for just under $15 and lets you have one more option in addition to wearing the device on your wrist.
