Helio Strap gets HRV sync support for Apple Health

A fresh firmware update is rolling out for the Helio Strap. Version 3.3.10.3 brings support for syncing HRV data directly to Apple Health, along with some improvements to heart rate tracking during sleep.

The update clocks in at just under 4MB, but it unlocks a fairly significant addition for anyone relying on Apple’s health ecosystem. Until now, the Helio Strap could already push heart rate, blood oxygen and sleep metrics to Apple Health. With this update, HRV joins the list. That means third-party apps like Bevel, Athlytic and others can finally tap into Helio-collected HRV data for readiness analysis, training insights or stress tracking.

HRV sync fills a key gap in Apple Health integration

Up to this point, HRV was one of the few health metrics missing from Helio’s Apple Health exports. This meant that users had to either check it in the Zepp Health app directly, or rely on other wearables like an Apple Watch or Whoop to fill that gap. With the new sync support now enabled, Helio Strap users can keep their HRV history in one place, right alongside sleep, resting heart rate and activity data.

The update also touches on heart rate tracking during sleep. Zepp Health says it has optimised the algorithm to provide more stable results overnight. It’s not clear whether this change will also affect metrics like BioCharge or Sleep Score in the Zepp Health app, but any boost to accuracy should help those features indirectly. The device already uses HRV and overnight heart rate variability as part of its readiness assessments.

Rollout status and things to keep in mind

The update is labelled 3.3.10.3 and comes in at 3.64MB. It’s being pushed out gradually, so not every region may see it right away. If you’re not seeing the new version yet, check back in the Zepp Health app over the next few days. There’s no mention of changes to sports tracking or user-facing features beyond these internal improvements, so most users won’t notice a big shift in daily use.

Still, HRV syncing is a meaningful step for those using Apple Health as their main hub. It opens the door for more accurate recovery and training load insights across a broader ecosystem of fitness tools. That’s good news for users who combine Helio Strap with iPhones but don’t want to rely solely on Zepp’s built-in dashboards.
