Amazfit Balance 2 gets ski mode and TrainingPeaks sync in new update

A new firmware update has started rolling out for the Amazfit Balance 2. Version 3.30.0.2 brings volume control improvements, digital crown shortcuts, and a dedicated ski machine mode, along with enhancements to diving, treadmill and GPS tracking. Plus you get integration with TrainingPeaks and Intervals.icu. The word is that Bip 6, Active 2 Round & Square will also get this update.

More control over what you hear and how you see it

Amazfit Balance 2 now lets users take finer control over audio levels. With this update, you can manage volume separately for media, alarms and workouts. That should help avoid surprises during a run or meditation session.

There are also new sound settings to adjust tones for calls, notifications and alerts. If you often train in noisy environments or prefer minimal distractions, this could make a noticeable difference.

On the visual side, Zepp Health has added a new text size setting to system preferences. It’s a minor touch, but one that makes the interface more accessible. A few new AOD watch faces have also been added to give users more options to personalise their device.

The rotating crown on the Balance 2 can now be used to open system menus. Spinning it up launches the Notification Center, while turning it down brings up the Control Center.

Sports tracking improvements

Another useful integration in this update is with third-party platforms like TrainingPeaks and Intervals.icu. This opens the door to better data syncing and external analysis. For serious training plans, this kind of integration is long overdue.

A new Ski Machine workout profile is now available. This mode is designed to give more accurate metrics during indoor ski workouts, something that was missing from the lineup.

Several key areas have been tweaked under the hood. GPS performance has been tuned for smoother and more natural route tracking. BioCharge scoring and energy consumption logic have been refined, which should lead to more accurate recovery feedback.

Recreational divers get improvements in interface clarity, vibration cues, multi-stop decompression logic and the NDL algorithm. This suggests Zepp Health is continuing to develop diving as a core feature set for the Balance 2.

Treadmill tracking sees better cadence accuracy, particularly for peak and average values. This has been a weak spot on many wrist-based trackers, so any improvement there will be appreciated by indoor runners.

The update also brings smarter navigation during workouts. Waypoints, slope alerts and voice guidance are now more refined, making outdoor training more intuitive. A long list of bug fixes rounds things out, aiming to make the experience smoother overall.
