Amazfit Helio Strap update brings 29 new workouts
Firmware version 3.7.0.1 for the Amazfit Helio Strap is now available and adds 29 new workout modes, including pool swimming, volleyball and martial arts. The update also improves activity detection and lets users customise a list of favourite workouts for faster access during training.
More sport modes to choose from
The fresh set of 29 workout types is the highlight of this update. That expands the strap’s capabilities into areas like pool swimming, rowing machine, volleyball, basketball, boxing, wrestling, along with various forms of martial arts including Jiu-Jitsu and kickboxing. It also covers activities like jump rope, which have been missing from many wearables until recently.
The broader selection matters because the Helio Strap relies on sport-specific algorithms to track effort and recovery more precisely. While heart rate accuracy and HRV features already give it an edge for strength and endurance athletes, having the right sport mode can make post-training metrics more meaningful.
The inclusion of pool swimming is notable, since water-based workouts often demand a more rugged sensor setup. That suggests Zepp Health is confident in the Helio Strap’s water resistance and algorithm tuning for aquatic environments.
Custom workout shortcuts now available
The update also brings better control over workout access. You can now build a personalised list of favourite training modes inside the Zepp Health app. This saves time if you find yourself switching frequently between the same few sports.
The final point in the changelog is improved activity detection. Zepp Health says the underlying algorithms have been refined to boost responsiveness and accuracy. While there are no technical details here, the implication is that the strap will better recognise when a session starts and ends, and perhaps adjust its auto-detection or calorie estimates accordingly.
