More signs a new Amazfit watch could arrive by year-end or early 2026

Two new regulatory approvals suggest the mystery Amazfit A2557 smartwatch may be closer to launch than expected. Certification from both South Korea and Indonesia add to the Malaysian filing that first drew attention last month.

A2557 now cleared in three countries

We first broke the news on the A2557. The initial hint came from the Malaysian SIRIM database in late November. At the time, it appeared to be an unannounced Amazfit smartwatch with no clear ties to existing product lines. The listing offered no technical information, only confirming that the device fell under the smartwatch category.

Now the same model number has been approved by South Korea’s NRRA and Indonesia’s SDPPI.

These certifications don’t include specs or images but do confirm A2557 as a wireless smart device manufactured in China. They also indicate that the device is production-ready. Certification across three regulatory bodies usually suggests the final version is complete and ready for distribution.

No clear link to existing Amazfit watches

The model number A2557 does not match any known Amazfit device currently on sale. Based on past naming conventions, this number likely indicates a newer generation. A2549, which passed through SIRIM in September, now appears to have been linked to the 44mm version of the T-Rex 3 Pro. That makes A2557 stand out even more, as it follows a higher sequence and has no known association with current models.

Most of Amazfit’s key lines have already been refreshed this year. That includes the Bip 6, Active 2 and T-Rex 3 Pro. If Zepp Health intends to meet its earlier goal of updating all major categories by the end of 2025 or in time for CES 2026, A2557 could be the final piece. The performance tier, which includes the Falcon and Cheetah series, has remained quiet throughout the year. This new watch may fill that gap.

Our money is on Falcon 2. That line competes with high-end Garmins, and a late-year release for a premium rugged watch is consistent with their strategy.

A launch window is taking shape

Zepp Health often begins with certification in Asia before expanding to Europe and the US. If A2557 follows that pattern, it should appear in FCC or CE databases soon. These filings typically include more technical information, such as battery size, charging method and supported connectivity. Occasionally, they also reveal product photos or internal diagrams. Granted, the FCC is currently running a backlog so it might take a while for it to show up there.

At this stage, A2557 looks more like a new model than a variant of something already on the market. Its placement in the internal numbering sequence, along with the timing of the certifications, points to an imminent launch. With regulatory activity now picking up, a release could happen in the weeks ahead.
