Amazfit users can now collect badges with Zepp Health app update

The Zepp Health app has just picked up a long-requested feature. With version 10 now live on iOS in many countries, Amazfit users finally get access to a badge system to reward personal bests, streaks, milestones and challenge completions.

A new badge tab appears in version 10 of Zepp Health

Until now, Amazfit watches have lacked the kind of visual motivation tools long offered by Apple Watch or Garmin. That changes with the new Zepp Health update, which adds a dedicated Badges section along the bottom navigation of the app. Tap on it and you’ll find a structured breakdown of progress and targets split into four sections: Personal Bests, Achievements, Challenges and Masteries.

The app highlights your top efforts in each category. For example, there are badges for your fastest 3K and 5K runs, longest runs by time and distance, and perfect weeks for calories, steps and time spent in the fat burn zone.

In the challenge section, you can join time-limited step events such as the current New Year Challenge which runs through the end of January. The badge design leans towards the visual style popularised by Apple, with colour-coded medals and animated progress bars.

Here are some screenshots from our app on iOS. We are in the UK, but there are reports the update has arrived in a number of other countries. To be clear, you can’t access the badgets on the watches, only via the smartphone app.

Visual refresh brightens up the experience

Version 10 also introduces a broader design update. The home page is now more colourful, with updated cards for Insights, Activities and Training Plans. These use softer gradient backgrounds and rounded corners for a friendlier, less clinical look. The navigation layout hasn’t changed drastically, but the addition of the Badges tab brings something new to the foreground.

At the time of writing, the update appears to be live only on iOS. Android users are still seeing the older version of the app.

Closing the motivation gap

This might seem like a minor feature addition, but it helps close the gap between Amazfit and other fitness platforms that have long relied on gamification to keep users engaged. Garmin, for example, has had a detailed badge and challenge system for years. Apple leans on monthly challenges and closed ring streaks. Now Amazfit users have something to match.

There’s room for growth. Right now, the system covers a broad but basic range of activities. As Zepp Health gathers more user feedback, we could see more nuanced badges tied to training plans, sleep recovery, or third-party integrations like Strava and Komoot. But for now, it’s a solid start that brings a bit more personality to the Zepp Health ecosystem.
