Zepp Health extends Amazfit T-Rex 3 firmware window by a year
Zepp Health has extended software support for the Amazfit T-Rex 3 by a full year, pushing the end date to September 2027. This was confirmed through an update to the official Zepp Health support page and spotted by users comparing older and newer versions of the listing.
Longer support brings it in line with the Pro model
The update window now stretches to three and a half years for units manufactured in early 2025. That lines up with the support lifespan of the Amazfit T-Rex 3 Pro, which shares very similar hardware and now runs on the same firmware track. Both watches currently sit on version 4.3.8.2, with future updates expected to continue in sync.
The adjustment also helps explain the shift to a single firmware series across both models. It’s unlikely to be a simple typo, given the firmware parity and recent software additions rolled out to both watches.
Owners have already received major upgrades in recent months, including the jump to Zepp OS 5. This brought visual polish and interface changes, plus new tools like BioCharge, structured workout syncing, and support for additional activity types.
The watch is now better positioned to handle third-party integrations and extended tracking. It is really good value for money now.
The future still depends on the hardware pipeline
There’s been speculation that the Amazfit T-Rex 4 will arrive later than expected, possibly in 2027, and that a T-Rex Ultra 2 will launch in the meantime. We are actually expecting that one to land in about a month at MWC Barcelona.
That would explain why Zepp Health is making the Amazfit T-Rex 3 series more useful for longer. With no immediate replacement lined up in the guise of the T-Rex 4, extending support gives current owners better value and reduces pressure to upgrade.
It’s also a move that aligns with user sentiment. Many in the community have expressed surprise and approval at the extended coverage, especially given the relatively affordable price of the watch.
The only caveat is that no one knows how far this will go. There’s been no official press release, and the update could still be adjusted in future. But for now, it looks like the Amazfit T-Rex 3 is in a better position than it was just a few weeks ago.
Update 5/2/2026: It seems Zepp Health has extended support window for other products including the Amazfit Balance and Active 2.
