Amazfit Helio Strap update brings better sleep and activity tracking

Version 3.11.0.1 of the Helio Strap firmware is now live, coming in at 3.66MB. It brings updates to sleep staging, nap filtering and activity recognition, along with a fix for Bluetooth connection glitches.

Sleep tracking gets a refinement pass

The biggest change is to the sleep algorithm. Zepp Health says it has been optimized to improve detection of sleep stages and cut down on incorrectly flagged naps. This update also enables recognition of short awakenings that might not have been noticed previously. The result may be an uptick in the number of recorded awakenings in your sleep logs, but the idea is to bring the data closer in line with what’s actually happening.

This is particularly relevant for Helio Strap users relying on the wearable to monitor readiness or recovery. With more precise recognition of micro-wake events and a better handle on nap filtering, the system should now offer cleaner insights into overnight rest quality.

Activity tracking accuracy has been improved too

The second change targets activity recognition. According to the changelog, false activity detection has been reduced. It’s unclear exactly which types of false positives were most affected, but users have occasionally reported the strap misidentifying wrist motion as active minutes. That kind of misread can inflate fitness stats and skew overall exertion trends. This fix might help those numbers feel more trustworthy day-to-day.

Bluetooth bugs get a quiet fix

Lastly, the firmware includes a fix for abnormal Bluetooth connection issues. This wasn’t a widely reported problem, but a few early adopters have mentioned sync delays or dropped connections with the Zepp Health app. If you’ve been seeing the strap lose contact with your watch or phone at random, this update might help iron that out.

The Helio Strap launched with a focus on continuous heart rate tracking, offline storage, and syncing to other devices, including Amazfit watches and platforms like Strava and TrainingPeaks. This firmware continues that direction by fine-tuning what the device records and when.

If you haven’t received the update yet, it may still be propagating. Zepp Health usually rolls out firmware gradually, so check the Zepp Health app and keep your device charged and nearby.
