Wearables and fitness technology to expect at CES 2025
Every January, Las Vegas transforms into the epicenter of innovation as CES takes over the city. Known as the Consumer Electronics Show, this globally renowned event has been a platform for groundbreaking technology since it began in 1967. Now, over five decades later, CES continues to be the place where the future of tech takes shape.
This year’s show runs from January 7th to 10th, with media days kicking off on January 5th. Over 100,000 attendees are expected to descend on the Las Vegas Strip, a city famous for its dazzling entertainment and nonstop energy. Beyond the glitz, the event itself is enormous, stretching across 2.75 million square feet and hosting more than 2,000 exhibitors.

Attendees can expect a mix of tech giants and fresh-faced startups showcasing everything from next-gen gadgets to experimental AI. With over 1,000 speakers on the schedule, the conference program will also highlight key trends shaping industries such as health, mobility, and sustainability.
CES isn’t just a tech show; it’s a glimpse of the possibilities ahead, a space where visionary ideas meet practical applications.
What to expect in wearable tech at CES 2025
This year, we’re likely to see a continued focus on health-first devices. Think advanced biometric tracking capable even of early illness detection. Sleep tech, a growing niche, is expected to expand with wearables designed to optimize rest and recovery.
Expect improvements in precision, durability, and AI integration. Established brands will likely debut products that merge style with substance. Meanwhile, startups will likely surprise us with innovations that push the boundaries of what wearables can achieve.
One trend to watch is how wearables integrate with larger ecosystems. Devices are becoming less standalone and more connected, syncing seamlessly with smart home systems, virtual reality platforms, and even vehicles.
While Apple’s absence at CES remains notable, their competitors will ensure plenty of buzz. From sleek smartwatches to groundbreaking AR glasses, the wearable tech category is gearing up for a strong showing. Expect devices that go beyond fitness.
Fitbit
Fitbit has been a consistent presence at CES over the years, but expectations for their showing at CES 2025 are tempered. Their offerings have been notably sparse in recent events. We attended IFA 2024 in Berlin and noticed that Fitbit didn’t even host its own stand. Instead, it took a backseat as part of Google’s exhibit—a marked shift from their earlier prominence. More of a side-note. There’s a chance this low-profile approach will continue at CES.
One product fans have been waiting for is the Luxe 2. The original Luxe fitness tracker is now approaching its fourth anniversary, making an update feel well overdue. While there haven’t been any leaks or hints about a successor, CES 2025 would seem like the perfect stage for Fitbit to breathe new life into their lineup.
Garmin
Garmin is a familiar name at CES, and last year they made their presence felt with the launch of the Lilly 2 smartwatch for women and the HRM Fit, a heart rate monitor also designed with women in mind.
The company has had a productive year, releasing several new devices and continuing to refine its offerings. For CES 2025, there’s already speculation about what might appear. The Instinct 3 has been mentioned in leaks, making it a likely candidate for a January reveal. There’s also interest in the Fenix 8 Pro, with rumors suggesting a version featuring MicroLED technology could be on the horizon.
As with previous years, Garmin may reserve some major announcements for their own events. While there’s a chance we’ll see some new devices at CES, a late-January launch for key products seems just as likely.
Withings
Withings has long been a standout at CES, regularly unveiling innovative health devices. At CES 2024, they introduced BeamO, a health monitor that performs a 4-in-1 checkup in under a minute. It works as a thermometer, ECG, oximeter, and stethoscope, offering accurate readings and syncing with the Withings Health app. The gadget has recently received FCC approval and we are expecting retail availability this Spring.
For CES 2025, expectations are high once again. The company has already received FDA clearance and CES recognition for its BPM Pro 2. This is a next-generation blood pressure monitor that combines cellular connectivity with advanced features for remote patient monitoring. While there are no other confirmed details about other potential launches, Withings is likely to deliver new gadgets that differ from what we have seen before.
Zepp Health
We also expect Zepp Health to make a showing. No teasers or statements so far, and no hints as to what could arrive.
This is another company that has had a busy year. What’s different is that contrary to previous years, it was more of a focus on software updates rather than new hardware. Recently, they launched Zepp OS 4, integrating advanced AI capabilities to improve user experience. Having said that, there have been some new launches such as the Amazfit T-Rex 3. Prior to that we saw the Amazfit Helio Ring – which was actually initially teased at CES 2024.
Xiaomi
Xiaomi is a regular at CES, often unveiling new gadgets and wearables. This year, they’re expected to showcase their latest innovations, including the Xiaomi AI Glasses, developed in partnership with Goertek. These smart glasses are designed to compete with Meta’s Ray-Ban smart glasses, featuring AI integration, audio components, and camera systems. The AI Glasses are anticipated to launch in the second quarter of 2025, potentially aligning with Xiaomi’s annual Fan Festival in April.
In addition to the AI Glasses, Xiaomi has recently introduced new wearables like the Smart Band 9 Pro and the Xiaomi Watch S4. While specific details about Xiaomi’s CES 2025 lineup remain under wraps, their history of delivering innovative and affordable technology suggests that attendees can look forward to exciting announcements.
Samsung
Samsung has also confirmed attendance. For CES 2025, their focus seems to be on artificial intelligence, with a press conference titled “AI for All: Everyday, Everywhere” scheduled just before the main event kicks off. This suggests AI might take center stage across their products this year.
One product already creating buzz is the Exynos W1000, a new wearable processor designed for smartwatches. It’s already won a CES Innovation Award, which points to significant advancements in both performance and efficiency. Samsung’s wearables, like the Galaxy Watch7, have also picked up awards, hinting at what might be on display in January. While they haven’t shared many specifics about new wearables, their push into AI could mean smarter, more capable devices are on the way.
Others
Last year saw smart rings making a big impression at CES, and there’s every reason to expect 2025 will continue the trend. Companies like RingConn, Ultrahuman, and Luna are likely to make announcements, whether it’s new hardware or significant software updates. These brands have been pushing the boundaries of wearable tech, and CES remains the perfect platform for their innovations.
Beyond smart rings, other emerging wearable categories could also see new developments. Smart glasses, for instance, are gaining momentum, with several brands expected to reveal updates or prototypes. Wearable patches and skin sensors, focusing on continuous health tracking, are another area to watch. Startups and smaller players are likely to bring fresh ideas to the table, ensuring the wearable tech space remains dynamic and full of surprises.
