Xiaomi Watch S4 41mm goes global with focus on style & fitness

Xiaomi has officially launched its 41mm Watch S4 for global markets. The announcement confirms earlier reports and brings some welcome upgrades in style and wellness tracking.

A second act for the Watch S4

The smaller Watch S4 variant first showed up in China at Xiaomi’s Human-Car-Home event in June. It followed just a few weeks after the 47mm model, which we spent some time with in a hands-on review.

That one was big, bold and surprisingly capable, with great battery life and solid performance across the board. The new 41mm version keeps most of the same internals, including the rotating crown, full sensor array and HyperOS platform. You lose a few days of battery, but get a lighter build that wears much easier.

The original Watch S4 was already a marked shift in tone from the S3. The 47mm case leaned toward a bold, masculine look, with rugged lines and a heavier presence on the wrist. This newer 41mm version flips that around. The marketing clearly leans toward users who value elegance over bulk.

And this isn’t just a size reduction. The design has been reworked in visible ways. The casing is stainless steel, the proportions tighter, and Xiaomi has put more attention into finishes. Some versions come with a Milanese strap and crown detailing that hint at a more upscale pitch. It’s a smartwatch that wants to look like something you’d wear out, not just to the gym.

A compact watch with full-sized capability

The display on the 41mm S4 measures 1.32 inches, runs at 60Hz and peaks at 1500 nits brightness. It also brings a sharp 466 × 466 resolution for clearer visuals, even in bright daylight. Navigation should be smooth, and the crown adds a tactile feel to the whole experience. The watch measures just 9.5mm thick (excluding the crown) and weighs 32 grams without the strap, making it comfortable for long-term use, whether at work or during sleep tracking.

Health and wellness tracking has seen a few upgrades. The heart rate module has been refined for better accuracy during exercise. Sleep tracking now includes a multidimensional analysis feature, backed by a 21-day guided plan designed to help users gradually improve their sleep routines.

Fitness tracking includes over 150 sports modes, with GNSS dual-band positioning for more accurate outdoor route tracking. There’s also support for swimming, skiing and gym workouts. One standout is the sport vlog feature, which lets users remotely trigger smartphone video recordings while overlaying real-time workout data like heart rate and calories burned onto the screen.

Battery life is rated at up to 8 days, with support for fast charging to reduce downtime between uses.

Price & availability

Until now, the 41mm iteration remained a China-only release. That has officially changed. Xiaomi has confirmed a global rollout beginning today.

The Watch S4 41mm is available in Black, Mint Green, White and the standout Sunset Gold edition. The latter features a Milanese strap and a crown set with a lab-grown diamond, giving it a more upscale appearance than the standard models. All variants share the same internal hardware and features, with differences mostly coming down to finish and materials.

In Europe, pricing starts at EUR 159 for the Black, Mint Green and White versions. The Sunset Gold edition, which includes the Milanese strap and crown detailing, is priced at EUR 219. For more details check Xiaomi’s website.
