Amazfit Active 2 gets BioCharge, third-party plans and sleep tracking boost
The Amazfit Active 2 just got a surprise stocking filler in the form of firmware version 6.7.0.1. This 15MB update delivers a mix of training, recovery and control upgrades, including BioCharge, Stryd support and third-party workout syncing, and marks one of the biggest feature boosts the watch has seen in a while.
BioCharge finally replaces Readiness
The old Readiness feature has finally been retired and replaced by BioCharge. While the general idea is the same, estimating your body’s ability to take on strain, it’s an upgraded version that is already live on Helio Strap, Helio Ring, recent T-Rex watches and Balance 2. The update likely brings backend refinements too, though the company hasn’t spelled those out.
BioCharge is still a daily recovery-style score, but it’s built to better reflect combined sleep, heart rate, and activity data. It offers a simplified way to judge how prepared your body is for intense workouts or whether to ease off.
Third-party workout plans, Stryd integration
Another big shift is native support for syncing structured training plans from TrainingPeaks and Intervals.icu. This gives users a much more serious training setup. It eliminates the need to manually create interval steps or re-enter targets into the app.
The Active 2 also now supports pairing with Stryd running power meters. This opens up advanced metrics like real-time power, leg stiffness and power zones for those who own a Stryd.
Better sleep tracking and new shortcut gesture
Zepp Health has also tuned the Sleep Score algorithm. The change-log mentions improved data accuracy, which could mean refinements to how different sleep stages are detected, or how the score is calculated.
Finally, users can now assign a shortcut to the double-press action on the lower physical button. This should speed up access to commonly used tools like the flashlight, workout screen, or music controls.
A holiday surprise for Active 2 owners
Zepp Health is obviously still hard at work despite the holidays. All in all, this is a solid end-of-year gift for Active 2 users. You get recovery insights under the BioCharge banner, deeper training integrations, hardware support for Stryd and more. At just 15MB, it delivers far more than its size suggests.
